The Safety Committee focuses on several issues which impact the well-being and security of the neighborhood. These include working with the City on pedestrian and bicyclist safety, including traffic shaping initiatives. We have made progress on this front in recent years, including the now-pedestrian-friendly intersection at Evergreen and Overton Park, “official” pedestrian crossings on McLean at Overton Park and Galloway, and bike lanes on Evergreen. It also works with the Memphis Police Department on crime in our neighborhood.
