Beautification Committee

Committee Chair – Gene Laurenzi

EHDA was formed in the late 1960’s in a effort to preserve Mid-Town Memphis as a place to live and raise families in the heart of Memphis. When the neighborhood association was formed its mission was to fight blight, urban decay and to assist with maintaining the greenspaces in our neighborhood. These include Overton & Williamson Park. This continues to be our mission of EHDA.

In 2018 EHDA adopted Williamson Park. A master plan was developed with the City of Memphis Parks to make major improvements including maintaining the tree canopy and adding a walkway. The Beautification Committee goal is to move the improvements to the park forward.

In addition, the Beautification Committee seeks to address other issues in our neighborhood regarding neglect. Membership on the beautification committee is open to any  member of EHDA. If you or someone you know has an interest in joining the committee, please email me at (elaurenzi@gmlblaw.com) or Denise Parker (jackandjillmom@gmail.com).
